Local Mortgage Broker Wins National Best Newcomer Award

 

 

Greg Martel, a Mortgage Broker and Franchise Owner with Dominion Lending Centres Harbour View Mortgages Corp in Victoria, was honoured with the Best Newcomer (Individual) Award at the CMP Canadian Mortgage Awards 2009 on April 3rd at Toronto’s Liberty Grand.

 

Best Newcomer (Individual) is an award of excellence for an outstanding newcomer within the Canadian mortgage brokering industry with less than three years’ experience.

Greg began his mortgage brokering career in January 2007. In just two years, this ambitious young entrepreneur has experienced considerable growth in his career and even opened his own brokerage franchise on April 1st, 2009.

Mortgage Brokers are gaining acceptance and becoming more widely used by a greater cross section of consumers – from those with perfect credit scores to self-employed individuals. With this surge in popularity comes intense competition among Mortgage Brokers across Canada. As such, Greg sets himself apart by encouraging his team to continually learn about new products and services, and focus on the positive aspect of the current market – which includes historically low interest rates that consumers can take advantage of to potentially save thousands of dollars each year and trim down the amount of time it takes to pay off their mortgages.
